In 2005, John became a client of Atticus after attending a weekend workshop. He signed up for private coaching to help him manage the start-up of his new law firm with a new law partner. Years later, he continues to participate in private coaching and a Dominate Your Market program. From starting a new firm, to recently buying out his law partner’s share in their firm and office building, John believes that Atticus coaching has been an integral part of his firm’s growth and weathering all the seasons of law firm ownership.
The first thing John will tell you is they don’t teach you in law school how to concurrently run a business, manage employees, develop and implement marketing strategies, and practice law. John understands the demands of running a busy practice. He manages a multi-attorney firm with 15 employees based in six states. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Organization of Veterans Advocates. Because of the unique nature of his practice areas, John has developed advanced systems and training procedures for his attorneys and employees. His practice innovations allowed him to be ahead of others in a pre-covid world when it came to remote employees, extensive use of video conferencing, and leveraging technology to increase efficiencies.
John is a diehard Florida Gator fan, having received both his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Florida. During his time off, he travels the globe and enjoys learning life lessons from the challenging game of golf. He and his wife, Kristy (his firm’s Director of Marketing), live in the Tampa Bay area.
